NEW FRANCHISE FEE EXPLAINED

  We're excited to partner with Mid American Energy and the citizens of Avoca to build a new fire and rescue station.

    The current facility does not meet state regulations and this 5% franchise fee, which is a $4-$5 increase on a typical bill, will allow us to update our facility to keep our firefighters and community safe.

    The franchise fee will begin January / February 2024. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call city hall to speak with City Administrator, 712-343-2424 option 1
